Stop Jumping to Different Platforms

Real advice

Maybe the Medium algorithm knows what I am going to read a bit too well, but I have an addition…

I keep hopping on to different writing platforms without a second thought. I already have accounts with Simily, Substack, and Newsbreak. I haven’t been consistent with any of these platforms besides this one and in the past substack.

Nevertheless, it is extremely addictive to hop on different platforms with the promise of money, growth, and recognition. But this addiction is faulty.

There is no guarantee you will grow on these other platforms let alone on Medium! If you do not have a massive audience on here, what makes you think moving somewhere else will be your big break?

Notice people hyping up Simily, Substack, or other platforms have an established audience either here or somewhere else. I can also tell you having an established audience doesn’t mean they will move with you to another platform without emails.

Newer or alternative platforms are often missing one thing, recognition. If a lot of people are not on those platforms already you’re risking a lot in terms of time and effort. Why write a lot for an audience that might be there in the future?
